Onion Salad, Spicy

This is a simple summer salad, easy to put together. Serves 4-6

Ingredients

  • 2 red onions, peeled and chopped/shredded

  • 2 green chillies, chopped (adjust amount to taste)

  • 1 tbs. finely chopped green coriander leaves or mint leaves (optional)

  • 1/4 tsp. chilli powder

  • 1/2 cup wine or cider vinegar (any good vinegar will do)

  • 1 tsp. tomato puree

  • 1 tsp. salt, adjust to taste

  • 1 tsp caster/ground sugar

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds, dry roasted and coarsely ground (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix. Place in a bowl, cover with cling film and chill for a couple of hours.

Notes

  • You can also add 1 deseeded and chopped tomato or 1/2 a cup of chopped ahite radish or mooli.
