Spinach Raita (Yoghurt)

A simple raita to make, it is quite refreshing in summer. Serves 3-4

Ingredients

1 cup Yoghurt or dahi
1/2 cup spinach leaves, boiled and mashed roughly. Do not make a paste, leafy texture looks and tastes better
1 tsp. roasted cumin seeds (jeera), coarsely ground
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp. or less red chilli powder, adjust to taste
You can add 1-2 chopped green chillies. If you do, reduce red chillies

Instructions

1.Beat the yoghurt with a fork.
2.Add all other ingredients and mix well. If it is too thick add a little milk and mix it again.
3.You can garnish it with a sprinkling of chilli powder and ground roast cumin seeds.
4.Serve with an Indian meal.

Notes

A little cumin powder and chilli powder sprinkled on top makes it look nice.
