Cucumber, Onion & Garlic Raita (Yoghurt)

2 cups natural yoghurt or dahi
1 cup cucumber, peeled and chopped into small pieces/cubes
1 small red onion, peeled and chopped into small pieces
2 tbsp. Patak's or home made Garlic Pickle crushed.
1 tbsp. fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
1 green chilli-finely chopped
1/2 tsp. salt, adjust to taste (check after adding Patak’s paste)
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper.


1.To make, beat yoghurt, garlic pickle, salt, black pepper together. Add cucumber, onion, half of the mint leaves, green chillies and mix well.
2.Adjust salt.
3.Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with remaining mint leaves. Serve chilled.


If you don’t have Patak’s garlic pickle, try using a little grated/ground garlic. It is different but still very nice-Mamta.
